Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She's now a Romanian/German actress. Her most well-known movies include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already secured a number of TV roles which included the leading role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. In the past, Alexandra has been involved in a variety of noteworthy national and international projects. These include British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as in addition to the French history mini-series Napoleon.
