Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian TV presenter and actress. Her most well-known work is the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. The actress was born as the sole son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. In her early teens, Alexandra played the leading role in several TV dramas. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The other Oscar nominated movies featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's career has seen her work on a number of notable international and national projects. Some of these include the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and French historical mini-series Napoleon. She also remained member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
